Ha ha! I love it.
I have often asked myself the same question. Even have not posted because of it.
All I've got is that I decided I want a record of my thoughts out there for friends and others to sharpen, challenge, and add to. So if I am not posting for that reason I usually pause and reflect on why I want others to see it. Making people laugh or inviting them to join me in my journey with God have become other good reasons to post.
Facebook is simply about staying connected with people I don't see every week...
If you are being transparent then you are being genuine. If you are putting on airs...then that is vanity. I find honesty refreshing and it helps others when you least expect it.
